The Amoebe Highback lounge chair was originally dreamed up for Panton's famous Visiona installation. It is a marvellous example of close-to-the-floor lounge furniture and embodies the spirit of the early 1970s.
Not a chair for the faint hearted. In bright colours, the re-edition delivers even greater comfort thanks to its flexible backrest shell. The Highback version creates a sense of shelter and seclusion - especially in large, open spaces
Colour: Black, Red, Green, Truffle, Dark Yellow and Dark Blue
Verner Panton, born 1926 in Gamtofte, Denmark, studied at Odense Technical College before enrolling at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen as an architecture student. He worked from 1950-52 in the architectural firm of Arne Jacobsen, and founded an independent studio for architecture and design in 1955. One of his most famous designs is the cantilevered Panton Chair for Vitra, a revolutionary design at the time it now looks so familiar.
