The Slab Desk by Tom Dixon is inspired by the archetypical Victorian school desk. This contemporary work station is equally comfortable as a hotel room desk or a dressing table.
Made from solid Oak construction, with softly rounded edges and understated proportions, the traditional inkwell transformed into a cable management hole, and a deeply machined groove for pens and accessories – this desk is a domesticated all situation work station for laptops, for makeup, for sketching or for fiddling around on Instagram.

Tom Dixon, OBE is a self-taught British designer. He is currently the Creative Director of the brand 'Tom Dixon' specialising in Lighting, Furniture and Accessories. He has taken Tom Dixon the brand from a small business operation to an international brand in the space of 20 years.
He rose to prominence in the mid 1980s as a maverick, an untrained designer with a line in welded salvage furniture. While working with the Italian giant Cappellini he designed the widely acclaimed ‘S’ Chair. In the late 90's Tom became Creative Director at Habitat, responsible for rejuvenating the brand while maintaining Terence Conran's vision of enriching everyday life through simple, modern design. He received an OBE in 2000 for his work and dedication to the world of design.
