Designed between 1995 and 1996, the original Maui Chair was the focal point of design research in the nineties and was the first of a new era of single mould seats that had no ribbing, metal supports or reinforcements to support the back. The perfect chair for home or commercial environment.

Vico Magistretti was an Italian industrial designer, known as a furniture designer and architect. A collaborator of humanist architect Ernesto Nathan Rogers, one of Magistretti's first projects was the "poetic" round church in the experimental Milan neighborhood of QT8.
